Brandon Sheer

Brandon Sheer is a Brooklyn-based photographer whose work explores isolation, memory, and the search for human connection in a post-pandemic world.

Working primarily with large-format photography, Sheer is drawn to overlooked places and strangers that feel suspended in time. His photographs examine the quiet distance that has settled into everyday life, searching for fleeting moments of recognition that suggest we are not as separate as we might feel.

Influenced by American photographers Walker Evans, Stephen Shore, Joel Sternfeld, and Alec Soth, his ongoing project We've Become Like Strangers reflects on the quiet erosion of community, asking a simple but persistent question: How do we find our way back to one another?
