Open Call

Submit your work

What We’re Looking For:

Dreams On Command is currently accepting submissions from artists interested in building an ongoing relationship with the gallery.

While much of our programming develops through studio visits, artist recommendations, and existing relationships, this open call exists to help us discover artists we may not otherwise encounter and to provide artists outside our current network an opportunity to have their work reviewed directly by the gallery director. Every submission is personally reviewed by our gallery director and evaluated based on its alignment with the gallery’s curatorial vision.

We are interested in artwork that transforms the familiar into something unexpected. Work that explores the deeper meaning behind everyday objects, environments, experiences, rituals, identities, and cultural norms tends to resonate strongly with our curatorial vision.

At Dreams On Command, we are particularly drawn to artists who challenge systems, expose the absurdities of modern life, and reveal new ways of seeing the world around us.

We’re drawn to artwork that is absurd, surreal, humorous, unsettling, thought-provoking, emotionally charged, or difficult to categorize. We are especially interested in artists whose work demonstrates a clear point of view, a strong conceptual foundation, and a willingness to push beyond simple documentation or decoration.

We welcome submissions across all mediums, including photography, painting, sculpture, installation, mixed media, video, and experimental practices.

This submission process is used to identify artists whose work aligns with the gallery’s long-term vision. Artists selected through this process may be invited to join the Dreams On Command artist roster and be considered for future solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, special projects, publications, artist talks, online features, and other gallery programming.

In some cases, artists may also be invited to participate in a specific exhibition or project without becoming part of the gallery’s ongoing roster.

What We’re Generally Not Looking For:

While the gallery director reviews each submission individually, our curatorial focus generally DOES NOT include traditional landscape, nature, wildlife, documentary-style street photography, commercial work, or artwork whose primary emphasis is aesthetic appeal or technical execution rather than concept.

How to Apply:

Upload images of your work along with a brief artist statement describing your practice and what you are exploring through your artwork.

Submission Fee & Review Process:

A non-refundable submission fee of $45 helps cover administrative costs and the time required for a thoughtful review process by our gallery director.

Every submission is personally reviewed by the Gallery Director of Dreams On Command. Your work is not screened by interns, volunteers, or an anonymous jury panel. Each submission is carefully considered for its conceptual strength, visual impact, and fit within the gallery.

It is important to understand that this submission fee is the only fee artists will be asked to pay during the exhibition process. If your work is selected, it is because we genuinely believe in the work, the vision behind it, and its fit within the gallery’s curatorial program. Selected artists may be considered for group exhibitions, solo exhibitions, or future opportunities at the gallery at our discretion.

Notification Process:

All applicants will receive an update once the review process has been completed. Whether your work is accepted or not, you will be notified by email when a final decision has been made.

Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we may not be able to provide individual feedback on every application. We appreciate your patience as we carefully review each submission.
