As a teenager, Marcelo spent countless hours on this basketball court, partying and fooling around with friends.

Years later, at 38, he returned while walking his dogs and saw the place differently. Beyond the court was this enormous suburban landscape: houses in the distance, empty stretches of grass, basketball hoops scattered across the frame almost like surveillance cameras, and a strange geometry created by the lines of the court.

He immediately saw a photograph.

Like much of Marcelo’s work, Eviction begins with a familiar place and disrupts reality just enough to make it feel slightly uncertain. An elegantly dressed man sits alone at a formal dinner table in the middle of the basketball court, seemingly unbothered by the absurdity of his surroundings.

What does the man eating an elegant dinner represent to you?

The work is printed on fine art paper and presented in a museum-quality frame made from wood imported from Italy, with 99% UV-protective museum glass. Its scale, color, and sculptural presence make it a powerful statement piece for a residential or commercial collection.
